Its not gonna happen people...although to be an official white christmas in England only a single snowflake has to fall on the weather tower in London... hmmm maybe i should change my bet!? ha

From the Met Office: "However, the definition used most widely, notably by those placing and taking bets, is for a single snow flake (perhaps amongst a shower of rain and snow mixed) to be observed falling in the 24 hours of 25 December." A single snowflake? In the Hebrides, even?

There have traditionally been 8 stations around the UK (surprisingly few in the North East!) for monitoring whether there is snowfall and these are used for the bets.
This year they're apparently using more automatic sensors, as well as experts to decide whether any snow flakes fall.

Cripes. They've decided to take down the page. I'm sure they'll have something up by boxing day, though. If they don't, I'll look at bbc weather, then ladbrokes or william hill to decide it.
